I don't think you can argue that Obliterate has a use for Blood because it has the same Rune cost, or that there will be a choice of DS vs OB. Realistically buffed, difference in damage for each is not enough for there to be a choice.
DS starts at 150% WD, OB starts at 160%. DS glyph negates the Disease damage bonus from OB, as they are both 25%, and DS gets a 45% talent boost where OB gets 30%, and Blood is not likely to ever want to get Annihilation considering DS will end up with ~272% WD vs OB's 260% unglyphed. I find it pretty unlikely there aren't going to be better glyphs to use for Blood than Obliterate, if it even stays in. Even then, the roughly 20% increase in threat from that one strike is not likely to ever be worth the loss of the heal and damage shield from DS.

Well, you are assuming glyphs like DS stay when we really don't know if they will stick around. Also, if they fix the mess that's Tier 1 Frost we might subspec into Frost for some fights because of Lichborne (for the fear break sometimes, for the self heal with DCs the other times). And once you are that far in, you might as well pick up Annihilaton. We won't need Morbidity for most boss fights after all.
Also, I think it is way too early to assume there would never be situations where theat is more important that survival because there will be if they fix threat. DS hitting too hard also does funky things with the Death runes. I am pretty sure we are supposed to decide whether we want to use 2xHS or 1xDS for a set of D runes. But if DS keeps hitting as hard as it does with the glyph then there really isn't much choice for single target, is there?
EDIT: Not saying that Annihilation is an exciting talent. At all. But if they aren't caving in and changing it, then we might as well take it in the Frost subspec.

For those waiting to test FeS:

It's acting weird. Reaping transforms the runes to death according to the interface but I can't SS with them. Going to test a little more.
Q u o t e:
Death runes in general are still buggy. It's not anything specific with Necrotic.
But, yeah, it appears that there isn't any cap (a la GoSS) to how long you can increase diseases by, which is good to know, and it does also extend Ebon Plague, despite the tooltip not including it.

I almost made a new thread for this but I didn't want to make you sad. While you're aboot, might you be able to take off the post cap on the original DK discussion thread? We would much <3 you.
